Hearth Suppers: Niklas Ekstedt X Skye Gyngell

As part of our Hearth Supper series, pioneer of Nordic gastronomy and open fire cooking, Niklas Ekstedt joins our Culinary Director Skye Gyngell for an evening in Hearth, our restaurant where we cook over fire.
Together, he and Skye will create a three-course menu that celebrates their individual style of cooking and the very best seasonal ingredients.
A spearhead in the progression of Stockholm’s exploding food scene, Ekstedt’s innovative recipes and techniques have had a profound impact on the culinary scene worldwide. His Ekstedt restaurant in Stockholm has held a Michelin star since 2013, and his recently opened Ekstedt at The Yard has brought his signature style of wood fried ‘old Nordic’ cooking to the UK for the first time.
Skye joined Heckfield Place as Culinary Director before its opening, and has been instrumental in guiding the culinary concept and estate offering. Her signature style of dishes created using local, fresh ingredients underpin all that is served at Heckfield Place, with Skye working closely with the Home Farm team to serve produce grown on the estate.
Skye also opened Spring Restaurant in London in 2014 which is her first solo venture. The restaurant brings Skye’s acclaimed ingredient-led cooking to the New Wing of Somerset House, the renowned arts and cultural centre in the heart of the West End.
