Our Commercial Partnerships Director has been in the beauty, wellness and fashion industry for 15 years. Here are her tips on how to elevate your wellness from skincare products to self-care heroes.

Since having my son my priorities have changed. Before, I loved nothing more than spending money on myself, new clothes, and evenings out, but now my favourite thing is shopping for my little boy. Kids’ things can be soooo cute (they can also be absolutely hideous..huge plastic toys, garish prints, but some brands really do some gorgeous things). As a working mummy, these are some of my must-haves kiddie essentials to help my day run a little smoother and keep my Rollo bear happy.

MIND

Now that Rollo is 20 months old, toys are a great way to keep him both entertained but also develop his mind. From imaginative play to stacking toys, trucks and puzzles, there is so much to choose from it can feel like a minefield. Enter Kidly; the perfect place to find everything you need. From clothes to feeding essentials and beautiful toys Kidly stocks the best brands for kids (including their own gorgeous label) which are tested by little ones and approved by parents. Everything I have got for Rollo from Kidly, like their gorgeous wood and Silicone stacking rainbow, this cute little coffee machine, fire truck and Puffa Fish bath toys he has totally adored and played with for hours ( yay a few mins laptop time for mummy). They are also pretty enough to not look awful spread all over the kitchen floor which happens multiple times a day.

Alternatively, you can take the guesswork out of your shopping with Lovevery which I was introduced to by my Bump Class group who absolutely raved about this. A Montessori-inspired play kit subscription which is designed by experts to support each stage of your child’s developing brain. They use organic, sustainable and natural materials which are good for your child and also the planet. The subscription-based kits are delivered every 2 months with new toys to encourage new skills and build independence.

Rollo loves the pram and can be a little lazy so enticing him out to play is always made easier with Banwood. I am totally obsessed with their gorgeous contemporary designs of bikes, trikes and scooters with a touch of mid-century charm, minimalism and functionality. Not only are they amazing fun for little ones, and perfect for developing their mind and strengthening their body but they are absolutely stunning. I wouldn’t mind a row of scooters, trikes and bikes in my hallway if they are made by Banwood.

BODY

Having a little premature baby and always being concerned about his growth, I am beyond thrilled that my little man is a good eater and loves food. To be fair both his parents are self-confessed foodies so it perhaps isn’t that surprising. Our weekends and holidays are always planned around food, something I think I inherited from my parents so long lunches are always on the cards and our favourite thing to do. Aware that toddlers can be tricky eaters and adamant to ensure Rollo loved vegetables and was an adventurous eater, I have always tried to serve him an array of different, yummy things, but time is always the issue.

As much as I love to cook and have a lot of staples under my belt including pancakes and cheese muffins,  meatballs, tomato and ricotta pasta sauce and salmon fish fingers I couldn’t survive without my monthly delivery from Pots For Tots. An amazing homemade baby food delivery service, specifically designed for busy mums and dads. They have a team of amazing chefs who cook the food and deliver it straight to your door. Rollo is really keen on the Chicken Korma and coconut fish curry which I have to say is so yummy I occasionally sneak a mouthful in…shhhh!

SOUL

Getting outside in nature is one of the most beneficial things for our mood and mental health and this couldn’t be more true for little ones (and parents of little ones). As a family, we love going on walks with our dog whatever the weather. I (and I know every other mother) always worry about how to wrap my little one up in just the right kit to keep him nice and warm. As my uncle always says “there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes” which is totally true.

As a swede, my favourite outerwear brand for braving the cold is Polarn o Pyret who believes in creating clothes to ensure children can play outside in any possible weather and are complete cold weather experts. Their overall with removable fleece lining is my absolute winter weather must-have and is perfect for cold walks to make sure Rollo can get outside whatever the weather!

I also adore Toastie who creates the most gorgeous Sustainable kid’s outerwear which is endlessly machine washable. Their Classic Waterproof Raincoat is made from recycled plastic bottles and is fully waterproof and is honestly one of the sweetest coats I have ever seen. Team these with the iconic classic hunter boots (the cutest boots on the market) and it’s the perfect outfit for some serious puddle splashing. This adorable outfit totally melts my heart into a puddle of mud.

Spending a lot of time in Sussex enjoying longer countryside walks with family and dogs before a long sunday lunch, a MiniMeis carrier has become an essential for both comfort and saving my husband’s poor back. This amazing, super compact carrier was designed by three Norwegian dads (clearly knowing the discomfort of piggybacks) to encourage parents to be more active with their kids. The MiniMeis gives Rollo the perfect view of the south downs on our walks, from the safety of our shoulders while giving us back our comfort and free hands. Win-win!

SKIN

As a lover of skincare I always knew I would be fussy about what I used for my son and Bramley’s Little B range is my absolute favourite natural bath and body range.

Perfectly formulated for little ones, this natural, gorgeous-smelling range is gentle and kind and calms and soothes my son’s delicate skin while also looking beautiful in the bathroom and on his changing table. Our nightly ritual with a little massage and facial using their Magic Balm has become one of my favourite things to do pre-bedtime and I think helps him relax for a good night’s sleep.
