Beauty & Wellness Level Up: Lou Talks Turning 40

Eeeek I am turning 40 this month! I can’t actually believe I am nearing this pivotal moment in life, but I find myself feeling more excited than anxious about it. I think my 40’s is going to be my decade so I am thrilled to celebrate this milestone with my friends and family. I wanted to celebrate this birthday by doing something special with my son to mark the occasion, a small dinner hosted by my parents in Sussex as well as a big family lunch.

Here is what I am doing to mark the day but also how I am prepping to look and feel my very best ahead of the big day.

Party Prepping

I really want to look my best for my birthday so I have decided to take some time to indulge myself with some lovely treatments as I always find when I look my best, I feel my best.

HIFU Skin Treatment – Skin Studio

I love the Skin Studio, it’s the most gorgeous salon in Parsons Green and an extension of Blush and Blow, where I have been a loyal customer for many years. I was so excited to get the chance to try a HIFU Treatment, also known as “lunch-time facelift” – Yes please! The high-intensity focused ultrasound targets deep in the SMAS layer, which immediately contracts to tighten and lift. As the skin’s healing response is triggered the skin naturally lifts and tightens over time with full effects after 12 weeks, although I definitely noticed some immediate benefits. I was a little nervous as HIFU can be a little uncomfortable, but it really wasn’t and I am so excited to see the full results in a few weeks time.

Marking my 40th with my son at ArtHub London

I have always loved art and collecting pieces with my husband has been one of our favourite things to do when we bought our flat together, so the family art session at Arthub London felt like an amazing way to mark my 40th. The Family Art Session was honestly the best way to spend some time together but also create a special piece we can treasure together. It is a completely unique experience with the lovely Adrienne who helps you create a large-scale canvas which is so totally unique to you. She is amazing and getting the little ones involved and encourages you in the best possible way. I cannot wait to frame it and hang it on our walls.
