The New Parisian Boutique Hotel
As far as city breaks go, Paris is unbeatable. The swift journey on the Eurostar in just over 2 hours, which places you right in the centre, adds to the allure of a few nights away in the City of Love. A newcomer to the lexicon of chic shops and restaurants that line the streets of the Marais district is Le Grand Mazarin. Oozing with artistic flair, the 61-key hotelier run by Maisons Pariente embodies a whimsical French Boudoir, masterminded by acclaimed Swedish designer Martin Brudnizki. The interiors wouldn’t be out of place on the set of the next Wes Anderson film, with kitch injections of apricot and teal hues and a recurring theme of lobsters. Paying homage to the Jewish Quarter neighbourhood, restaurant Boubalé offers a sharing-style Israeli menu. Nestled in the arched vaults of the basement, you’ll find a spa that exceeds expectations featuring a Technogym kitted-out gym that’s almost too pretty to sweat in and a swimming pool backdropped against a mural painted by artist Jacques Merle. Physiotherapist, Anne Cali operates out of the treatment cabins soothing souls with her made-to-measure massages. Drenched in tasteful maximalism through endorphin-inducing interiors, Le Grand Mazarin is a must-see if you’re heading to Paris!
