Nestled behind Oxford Circus, Treehouse Hotel is the care-free younger sibling of 1 Hotels, who are renowned for their sustainable ethos. Like their older sibling, Treehouse Hotel has put sustainability at the forefront of everything they do from the refillable cruelty-free toiletries to the biophilic wall that features on the top floor! Keeping its carbon footprint low and its enjoyment factor high, Treehouse Hotel has pulled out all the stops to create a fun-filled, playful aesthetic that lets adults feel nostalgic and care-free. Spoilt with picturesque views of the city, interiors inspired by nature, delicious food and a chilled-out vibe, Treehouse Hotel is the perfect spot for a city break.
Furnished with home comforts and quirky touches, the interiors are designed to spark creativity. It’s not often you can truly let go and revert to your childlike self, Treehouse is the place you can do so, with jam-jars filled with retro games such as dominos and trivia pursuit that you can take up to your room upon arrival, you will instantly regain a sense of innocence, provoking spontaneous fun. Bringing a completely unique design concept to the hospitality sector, Treehouse is where home meets hotel. Bringing the outdoors in, the hotel is filled with greenery and recycled wood, (living up to its name!) and perched high in the sky, giving the bedrooms an exclusive view of London. With woody, neutral tones, old school trinkets and cosy corners, the rooms are snug yet spacious…exactly what you need at the end of a busy day. During our stay at Treehouse, we got to experience the Lookout King which features the most heavenly window nook with lots of cushions and a little tea station…the perfect spot for a morning brew watching the sunrise over the city, it was really quite spectacular! Fitted with a deluxe king bed, a desk, a walk-in power shower and two flat-screen televisions, the room has everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. The attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed from cuckoo-clocks to record players, the hotel has nailed a playful aesthetic that doesn’t compromise on style.

Fusing Mexican and Californian cuisine, The Madera takes fine-dining to new heights. As soon as you step foot out of the lift you are hit with the breathtaking views of the city which make this restaurant one of London’s most spectacular dining experiences. Channelling a contemporary style with exotic interiors, ambient music and low-lighting, The Madera has all the key components of somewhere to book for a special occasion, with a menu to match. Serving up unique interpretations of Mexican food and cocktails that pair bold flavours with organic ingredients, The Madera features a vegan menu as well as their signature menu, to accommodate plant-based eaters. The extensive menu showcases twists on Mexican classics such as the chef’s corn-fed chicken mixiote enchiladas, vegan ceviche, taqueria halibut Ensenada and the signature ‘rocks’ entrées, which are served over hot lava stones which make quite the ‘showstopper’ of a dish. Bringing a new zest of life to London’s dining scene, the Madera encompasses authentic Mexican flavour complemented by immersive London views for the ultimate eating out experience.
Positioned just above The Madera is The Nest, the Treehouse’s bar which exhibits the same extravagant views of London’s skyline. With an extensive list of exquisite cocktails and mocktails, The Nest is a place you can truly unwind and soak up all London has to offer. Watching the sunset over the city with a cocktail in hand is one of life’s luxuries that is not to be missed! Home to Treehouse’s very own living biophilic wall, you can live out your childhood fantasy of exploring a treehouse surrounded by lush greenery. Every Thursday night you can listen to some of London’s best DJs with a bespoke Belvedere cocktail menu.
Following in the green footsteps of older sibling 1 Hotels, Treehouse has strong sustainable initiatives. Using recycled and reclaimed design elements throughout the hotel, a strict composting and recycling scheme, limiting single-use plastics and showcasing second life products such as glassware made from old wine bottles, Treehouse has thoroughly considered the environment every step of the way. The beautiful living biophilic wall featured on the top floor does more than meets the eye, the live plants benefit the environment by improving air quality as the plants remove toxic chemicals, produce oxygen and reduce airborne bacteria. Treehouse also encourages guests to limit their carbon footprint during their stay by using the hotel bikes to explore the city!
Guests looking to keep up with their health and fitness rituals during their stay can take advantage of Treehouse’s wellness programme. Partnering with London studio, Frame, you can book a personal training session with one of their expert trainers, who will create a bespoke workout to put you through your paces. Whether you’d prefer to work out in your room, on the terrace of The Nest or in nearby Regent’s Park, the choice is yours. During our stay, we opted to complete our workout on the terrace of The Nest which we’d highly recommend, there’s no better way to kickstart your day than undertaking a sweaty session whilst taking in the views of London!
Treehouse Hotel is constantly collaborating with like-minded brands to bring new initiatives to their space. They recently paired up with The Soil Association, FaceGym and of course, the ongoing partnership with FRAME, to offer guests a new wellness-boosting dimension to their stay. With weekly DJ nights and weekend brunches, there is plenty to get involved with whether you are staying at the Treehouse or not.
