There’s something about Cornwall that keeps pulling us back, the wild, rugged coastline, the salty air, and that perfect balance of adventure and calm. We’ve been so lucky with the weather, those crisp, sun-filled days where everything feels brighter, fresher and more energising. The kind of days that start with coffee in the cold air, roll into beach swims and blustery walks, and end with cosy evenings with simple, delicious food.
This time, we’re staying at Middle Colenso Farm, The Old Granary and I couldn’t be more excited. It feels like the perfect base, tucked away enough to feel peaceful, but close enough to the coast for spontaneous dips, sandy afternoons, and all the chaos and joy that comes with travelling with a little one.
Packing for Cornwall has become something of an art form, it’s about layers, practicality, and those small luxuries that elevate the entire experience. These are the pieces I’m bringing with me, that make everything feel effortless, considered, and quietly indulgent and also a little piece of home.
Toastie Explorer Weatherproof Robes
An absolute essential for the whole family when we’re in Cornwall. For my son, it’s perfect for wrapping him up straight out of the sea, getting him changed without the usual beachside chaos, and keeping him warm while we linger a little longer. But I rely on it just as much, whether it’s throwing it on after a cold swim, layering up against the wind, or staying cosy during those slower moments on the beach. It’s become part of our favourite rituals, post-swim snuggles, rosy cheeks, and a hot chocolate in hand as the sun starts to dip. Practical, comforting, and one of those pieces that makes the whole experience feel effortless.
Correxiko LED Light Therapy Face Mask
I genuinely bring my LED mask on every holiday. It forces me to slow down, even if just for 10minutes in the evening, and it’s become such a calming part of my routine. Beyond the ritual, it’s also brilliant for keeping my skin balanced and glowing, especially when it’s exposed to the elements all day. It’s my non-negotiable skincare favourite.
Slow Love Knitwear Handknit Jumper
This is, without question, the cornerstone of my Cornwall wardrobe. There’s something so comforting about a beautifully handknit piece, the weight of it, the texture, the way it instantly makes you feel wrapped up and grounded. I know I’ll be reaching for it constantly: early mornings with coffee outside, thrown over swimwear after a cold dip, layered up for long coastal walks. It’s one of those rare pieces that feels both practical and deeply indulgent, and it only gets better with wear.
A family essential that manages to be both practical and genuinely stylish which, let’s be honest, makes all the difference. Durable enough for beach days, sandy hands, and endless exploring, but still elevated enough to feel considered. We both have a pair, and I love that they strike that balance between function and style, for me and for him.
Miller Harris Mineir Eau de Parfum
This is my little luxury for the trip, the finishing touch that makes everything feel a bit more considered. It’s fresh, coastal, and slightly sun-warmed in a way that feels completely in tune with Cornwall, light enough for the day but with a softness that lingers into the evening. I love having a scent that becomes part of the memory of a place, and this one feels like salty air, warm skin, and slow, golden evenings. It’s the kind of detail that feels small but elevates everything.
I love bringing something like this, it encourages those slower, more intentional moments. Whether it’s a lazy afternoon or an early evening glass of wine, it creates a space to properly switch off and be present with my husband.
Red Equipment Waterproof Tote Bag
This is the bag that holds everything. Towels, snacks, spare layers, wetsuits, random toys, it all goes in here. What I love is that it’s completely practical and waterproof, but still looks great, which somehow makes the chaos of a family beach day feel a little more pulled together.
ILIA Beauty Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 30
This is the only base I pack for trips like this. It gives just enough coverage to even everything out, while still letting skin breathe and glow naturally. The added SPF is essential when you’re outside all day, and I love how it makes my skin look like itself, just fresher and more luminous. It’s that perfect balance of skincare and makeup, which is exactly what I want on holiday.
For those quieter moments back at the house or when it rains. It’s always worth having something that keeps them entertained while you cook, unwind, or just take a breath.
Jo Loves Jardin de Citrus Candle
A non-negotiable for me. Lighting a candle instantly shifts the mood of a space, and this one feels fresh, uplifting, and perfect for spring evenings. After a long day outdoors, it’s those small sensory details, scent, light, atmosphere that make everything feel calm, cosy, and complete.
