We have the roadmap out of lockdown set out in front of us but with us Londoner’s being in lockdown since before Christmas (remember the dreaded tier 4?), you can forgive us for feeling itchy to get back to some normality. With outdoor dining now open, there is thankfully an opportunity to get a taste of eating out again…. IF you can even get a reservation anywhere! With most places booked up already, you may have to wait until restaurants can fully reopen indoors for you to get your fix. If that’s the case and you can’t manage to get a table for love nor money, we’ve found some amazing recipes inspired by some restaurant classics that you can create at home.

DISH: Nobu Miso Black Cod

One of Nobu’s most popular recipes is their mouth-watering black cod. It’s such a classic Japanese dish and it feels a little bit special. Recreate this version from The Kitchn

DISH: Kerridge’s Glazed Omelette Lobster Thermidor

Miss heading out for weekend brunch? This indulgent dish from Kerridge’s is definitely worth creating at home. Luckily, Sainsbury’s Magazine has taken it upon themselves to help you recreate it at home!

DISH: The Ivy’s Chicken Milanese

With The Ivy being a go-to for any special occasion, their Chicken Milanese is a menu staple that many people love. Delicious Magazine’s Chicken Milanese with Crispy Potatoes and Rocket is the perfect spring dish to enjoy in your garden!

DISH: Dishoom’s Black Dal

While we tend to agree the average hour wait to get a seat at Indian mecca, Dishoom, is worth it, we definitely think it’s also worth trying to recreate some of their cult dishes to save you time and money! This black dal recipe from Instant Pot Eats is a winner.

DISH: Sushi Samba’s Prawn Tempura

We do love a good Japanese restaurant and along with Nobu, Sushi Samba is up there with one of our faves. Nothing beats a bit of tempura to get the meal off to a delicious start so give this Prawn & Veggie Tempura recipe a go from Fresh Flavourful a go!

DISH: Wagamama’s Yaki Udon

There’s something feel-good about a hot bowl of noodles and our go-to is Wagamama’s Yaki Udon. For a vegan take on their customer favourite, try Lazy Cat Kitchen’s Vegan Yaki Udon.

DISH: Granger & Co Folded Scrambled Eggs

We’re passionate about breakfast and if you haven’t waited in line for Granger & Co there WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? They have many cult dishes on their menu like their Sweetcorn Fritters and Ricotta Hotcakes but their eggs are next-level good. While their “folded” technique remains their best-kept secret, here’s a great tutorial on the method over at The Kitchn.
