Frida Redknapp, Swedish-born mum of five and one of the most trusted voices in family wellness, has just launched something we think is going to change the way busy people cook
We’ve all been there. It’s 6pm, everyone’s hungry, and the gap between “I want to feed my family something genuinely nourishing” and “I have 20 minutes and zero energy” feels impossibly wide. For too long, the answer to that gap has been ultra-processed food and most of us know it. Frida Redknapp knows it too. And rather than accept it, she spent months in her own kitchen doing something about it. The result is Frood: a brand new range of four whole-food cooking blends, landing on M&S and Ocado shelves this month, and already shaping up to be one of our favourite launches of the year.
Real ingredients. Real food. Really fast.
The premise is beautifully simple. Each Frood blend combines gently dried fruits and vegetables, grains, seeds, plant proteins and other wholesome ingredients into a single, cleverly balanced mix. You choose your protein, add a little water and oil, mix, cook and in just 20 minutes, you have a genuinely nutritious, flavour-packed meal on the table. No chopping. No hunting down obscure ingredients. No guilt about the ingredient list.
Every blend is UPF-free, fibre-rich, a natural source of protein, and packed with real vegetables. For anyone trying to navigate the seemingly impossible triangle of healthy, convenient, and actually delicious, Frood feels like a long-overdue answer.
The four blends
Bella Bolognese — Built on a classic soffritto of onion, carrot and celery, with herbs, spices and tomato, this is the kind of rich, hearty bolognese that tastes like it’s been simmering all afternoon. It hasn’t, but no one needs to know.
Swedish Meatballs — Frida’s Swedish roots shine through here. Made with gluten-free oats, spinach, flax seeds, onion, garlic, parsley and warm spices, this blend works beautifully with both meat and plant-based mince for a comforting, family-friendly dinner.
Golden Curry — Turmeric, curry spices and tomato come together with real vegetables and faba bean protein for a warm, golden sauce that’s as nourishing as it is satisfying. The kind of midweek curry you’ll make on repeat.
Mexi Fiesta — Bold, smoky and seriously good, this one layers tomatoes, real vegetables and natural spices into a punchy, versatile sauce. Works with meat, beans, lentils or tofu, and is equally at home in tacos, burritos, bowls or loaded on nachos.

The woman behind it
If you follow Frida online, you’ll already know she’s the real deal when it comes to family, food and wellbeing. Swedish-born, London-based, and mother to a big blended family with husband Jamie Redknapp, she’s built a reputation for honest, grounded content about what healthy living actually looks like in a busy, full household.
Frood isn’t a celebrity side project — it’s the product of a genuine problem she was trying to solve for herself.
“As a working mum who prioritises the health of myself and my family, I really believe that convenience shouldn’t have to mean ultra-processed,” she explains. “Yet all too often this is the compromise people are having to make. I’ve spent many months in my own kitchen perfecting family favourite recipes and turning these into delicious whole-food blends — a brand designed for real life.”
Every recipe has been tried, tested and (enthusiastically) eaten at the Redknapp family table before making it into the range. That matters. These aren’t blends dreamt up in a food lab; they’re dishes that have earned their place on a busy family’s weekly menu.
Why we’re excited
The UPF conversation has been growing louder for a while now, and rightly so. But awareness without accessible alternatives doesn’t get dinner on the table. What Frood does, is give people a genuinely better option that doesn’t ask them to sacrifice time, effort or flavour to make the healthy choice. At £3 a pack, serving four people, the value is hard to argue with too.
Frood is available now at M&S and Ocado. We have a feeling your weeknight dinners are about to get a serious upgrade.
