Valentine’s Day, for me, has quietly evolved. These days, it’s less about grand gestures and more about something far more luxurious: time just for me.
I love Valentine’s as an excuse to lean into self-care, self-love and a little everyday indulgence. Think relaxation, good food, beautiful scents, and all the things that make you feel cocooned, calm and quietly joyful. This year, my plans involve pyjamas, a scented candle, Sense and Sensibility on repeat, and a lineup of feel-good treats that make staying in feel like the ultimate luxury.
Here’s what’s on my Valentine’s wish list…
The jumper for ultimate cosiness
A beautiful knit is non-negotiable. This cream cable jumper from With Nothing Underneath is the kind of piece you live in, soft, timeless, and perfect for slow mornings and sofa evenings alike.
A pop of red (because it is Valentine’s)
These postbox-red ribbed bed socks from PAIRS are joyful, cosy, and exactly the kind of playful detail I love. Comfortable, but with personality.
A candle that turns the evening into a ritual
I’m all about candles, and Connock England’s Kukui three-wick is pure indulgence. Make it a three-wick and suddenly the whole room feels calmer, warmer, and a little more special.
A new scent for the season
Nothing says “treat” quite like a new perfume. Jo Malone’s Amber Labdanum Cologne Intense is rich, comforting and grown-up, the kind of scent that feels like a hug in fragrance form.
My ultimate skincare indulgence
When it comes to face masks, Sarah Chapman’s 3D Moisture Infusion Mask remains unbeaten. It’s my go-to when I want instant glow and that post-facial feeling without leaving the house.
For a little rejuvenation
If I’m really leaning into indulgence, the Niance Switzerland Epigen9 Rejuvenating Serum is top of my list. It’s a proper luxury, but one that makes skin look and feel incredible, and Valentine’s feels like a perfectly valid excuse.
Pyjamas, a film, and no plans
Valentine’s Day says silk pyjamas and Sense and Sensibility (always). This LilySilk set is elegant, comfortable, and exactly what I want to be wearing while doing absolutely nothing.
And finally… chocolate (obviously)
One tradition my husband never skips: Charbonnel et Walker milk sea salt caramel truffles. Rich, nostalgic and completely irresistible, some habits are worth keeping.
This Valentine’s Day, I’m choosing softness, stillness and small luxuries that make everyday life feel a little more special. Because sometimes, the best person to treat… is yourself.
