Summer has always been my favourite season. Give me a long walk, dinner outside, a weekend away or a music festival and I’m happy. The only challenge is that my usual routine tends to disappear. I stay up later, eat out more often, spend hours in the sunshine and I’m far more likely to enjoy the occasional glass of wine with friends than I am in the middle of winter.
As a registered nutritional therapist, people often assume I have a cupboard overflowing with supplements, but the truth is I’m actually quite selective. These are the products I genuinely find myself reaching for every summer because they help me enjoy everything the season has to offer while still feeling like myself.
Summer can be wonderfully busy, but sometimes a little too busy. Between work, travelling, social plans and trying to squeeze everything into the lighter evenings, it’s easy to feel like you’re constantly on the go.
Equilibrium is one of the products I rely on during those periods because I notice the difference when life becomes hectic. It helps me feel more resilient and balanced, which means I have the energy to say yes to spontaneous plans instead of feeling like I need to stay at home and recover. When I’m feeling calmer during the day, I also tend to sleep much better at night, even when the evenings are much warmer than usual.
BetterYou Magnesium Max 3-in-1 Powder
This has become part of my evening routine all year round, but I especially appreciate it during the summer. If I’ve spent the day outdoors, been travelling, or simply found it difficult to switch off because it’s still bright outside at 9.30pm, making up a glass of magnesium has become my cue that the day is winding down.
I love that it’s a powder rather than another capsule, and the lemon and lime flavour makes it feel surprisingly refreshing on a warm evening with a few ice-cubes. Good sleep is something I never take for granted because it influences almost every aspect of my health, so anything that helps me create a relaxing bedtime routine is always worth keeping.
One thing I notice every summer is how much my eating habits change. There are more barbecues, restaurant meals, weekends away and the occasional ice cream that simply has to be enjoyed. It’s all part of summer, and I certainly don’t believe in missing out.
That’s why I like to keep my digestive health supported. Looking after my gut helps me feel more comfortable when my routine isn’t quite as predictable, whether I’m travelling, eating at different times or simply enjoying a little more indulgence than usual. Correxiko’s Probio+ is perfect for the Summer as I can carry it around in my handbag because it doesn’t need to be refrigerated like most probiotics. Plus, it was developed by a gastroenterologist and really works!
Omega-3 is one of those supplements that never really changes with the seasons because I take it consistently year-round. For me, it’s one of those nutritional foundations that quietly supports overall health without needing to think too much about it. Long days in the sun, disrupted routines, eating out more often and the occasional glass of wine can all leave us feeling a little below our best. Omega-3 supports brain, heart and eye health, making it one of those simple, foundational supplements that helps me feel resilient when life is a little busier than usual.
There are some days during the summer when I seem to fit an entire week’s worth of activities into one day. I’ll be filming content, seeing clients, travelling somewhere and then heading straight out in the evening.
On those particularly busy days, Energy + CoQ10 is one of the products I naturally reach for. Rather than relying on endless cups of coffee, I prefer supporting my body’s natural energy production so I can keep doing the things I enjoy without feeling completely depleted by the end of the day. Link Nutrition’s supplements are food-based and their Energy + CoQ10 supplement includes essential B vitamins, vitamin C and magnesium to help maintain and increase energy levels naturally – which is just what I need during the busy Summer months.
