We are delighted to announce that the Made in Chelsea star, Oliver Proudlock, is our Fitspiration for February! Oliver (Proudlock to all you MiC fans out there) has just completed the Men’s Health 6 week six pack challenge at the LOMAX gym in Chelsea and we thought that he was the perfect candidate to help motivate you to stay Hip & Healthy. In between shooting, managing his own business and collaborating with various creatives, Proudlock admirably found the time to work on his fitness and health. We asked him the how’s and why’s of his workout program as well as getting diet tips and insight into his newfound healthy lifestyle.

Have you always been interested in keeping fit?
I have always been very active and into sport since a young age. It is only within the last 2 years or so I have got heavily into the gym. I try and train 5 times a week. It has become a strong part of my daily routine, and I am a strong believer in healthy body, healthy mind.

Did you play any sports at school?
Yes. I played tennis and football.

What made you decide to take part in Lomax’s 6-week transformation?
I got approached by Men’s Health to take part in their 6-week six-pack challenge. They offered various trainers, but having already worked out at Lomax I decided I wanted to take on the challenge with one of their trainers Dan Casey. I have always been into challenges and pushing my body to its limits, so this seemed like an amazing opportunity.

What did you enjoy most about the experience?
At the beginning I found the change in my diet very challenging. As i was trying to build muscle and mass, I had to massively increase my daily intake of calories and protein. I went from eating 3 meals a day to 6 a day. At the beginning i found this hard, but as my body adapted to the intense training, so it craved more food. Eating a lot went from being a chore to a treat. In terms of the training, i loved every minute. I like to challenge myself and push my body to its limit. Dan was a great trainer, and it didn’t take long to see results.

You’re running your own business and your on a TV series, how do you manage to fit in exercise?
At times it is hard, but I try to exercise in the mornings so that is it done. Then I can continue with my other projects throughout the day.

Do you have a favourite gym exercise?
For me my favourite is dead lifts.

Do you have a favourite quote or mantra?
Don’t just love it, live it.

What is your go to breakfast on training days?
I have 100g of porridge with almond milk and agave honey. Followed by 7 egg whites, 1 whole egg omelette with half a bag of spinach.

What’s your favourite post-workout snack?
I always have a post workout shake with coconut water, blue berries and banana.

You have to invite a sports personality to dinner, who would you invite?
Mike Tyson

What would you cook if for them?
Steak, straight up.

Do you have any advice for a fitness newbie?
The key is what you do outside the gym. The right nutrition is so important.

What do you do to relax after a busy day at work?
Have a bath and watch a movie.

Do you have any vices?
Popcorn and chocolate!

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?
When you commit to something, give your all to deliver.
