Roots to Rise Yoga Retreat
October 4 - October 7
Lambay Island Retreat is hosting Roots to Rise Yoga Retreat, a four-day / three-night yoga and nutritional retreat for just 10 people on the private and mystery-shrouded island of Lambay, conveniently located within easy access of Dublin International Airport. The island is considered by many to be “hallowed ground” or, for the less spiritual, certainly a place of exceptional grounding qualities.
Both scientists and spiritualists attribute this partly to the island’s history as an ancient, 250 million year old volcano; volcanic soil is known to contain very high concentrations of minerals and nutrients such as phosphates, nitrates, potassium and calcium. Our bodies seem to respond to this enriching earth as though to a magnet, and visitors to Lambay all speak of the unique feel of the island, the way in which it connects you to your surroundings and the ground beneath your feet.
This has inspired yogi Rachel Cruickshank to host a Roots to Rise Yoga retreat, also in tribute to the time of year the retreat will take place, when our bodies should be taking sustenance from the seasonal root vegetables naturally available throughout September, October and November. Rachel has teamed up with private chef and seasonal foods connoisseur Lottie Brook to nourish you throughout your island stay, and teach you about the benefits (to both your bodies and the planet) of eating seasonally.
