Glenapp Castle Woodland Wellness Retreat
November 26, 2021 - November 28, 2021
Glenapp Castle, a 21-bedroom luxurious Relais & Chateaux hotel, is excited to announce that it is partnering with Barbara Griffin of Transform Body + Mind to launch its inaugural Woodland Wellness Retreat this November.
The pandemic has left people yearning for the outdoors, wide open spaces and remote destinations, and wellbeing has never been so paramount. With this in mind, Glenapp Castle and Transform Body + Mind wanted to create a bespoke event to give guests the chance to get close to nature and to experience a life changing retreat ahead of the busy festive season.
Glenapp Castle is tucked away on the breathtaking Ayrshire coast in Scotland. In addition to its beautiful location, the Castle is renowned for offering 65 indoor and outdoor activities. Earlier this year, the hotel introduced brand new wellness activities to its portfolio including yoga, digital detox and forest bathing. It seems only fitting that the Glenapp Castle team wanted to take this a step further and partner with Transform Body + Mind. With 110 acres of private estate, beautiful gardens and local woodland, plus stunning views out to sea and the famous volcanic outcrop of Ailsa Craig, Glenapp Castle provides the perfect backdrop for this inaugural retreat.
Barbara is a professionally accredited and accomplished Coach (Fitness & Life) with over 20 years’ experience in helping people transform their lives. Drawing from her psychology degree, years of working in the leisure and health industry, her research into the world of wellbeing and feedback from her courses, workshops and retreats, Barbara assists and encourages clients to live their best life. She coaches people from all different ages, from as young as 15 to 88 years old. She asks them all when the last time they (if ever) analysed their current situation, identified things that may be holding them back and devised a plan of action to help achieve their ideal lifestyle.
She helps people thrive by using mindset, fitness and nutrition. She is passionate about helping people to develop clarity, confidence and control in their personal and professional lives. The words she lives by are “Inspiration, Motivation and Solutions” with love and some sparkle thrown into the mix.
The Woodland Wellness Retreat is one of her first retreats in the UK, having usually hosted them overseas in the Canary Islands. When looking for the perfect place to host her next retreat, it came as no surprise that she chose to partner with Glenapp Castle. Barbara Griffin comments ‘’visiting Glenapp is like visiting another world. It is not a million miles away, yet it feels like it is. Our retreat, with focussed workshops, active sessions and amazing nutrition, within the calming surroundings, is a perfect antidote to 18 months of restrictions, which for many have caused uncertainty and anxiety. We very much hope the connection between the philosophies and ambience of Glenapp Castle and Transform Body + Mind will inspire, motivate and provide solutions to our guests’ wellbeing.”
Over the three days, guests of this event will experience a full schedule of body and mind coaching workshops and sessions. The itinerary will incorporate walking/running, yoga/pilates, flexibility, conditioning, strength work, meditation and mindfulness – all which will be individually tailored to the guests. The sessions will be adaptable depending on each different participant and how they are feeling throughout the day. Barbara will work closely with Glenapp Castle’s Executive Chef, Joe Gould, to create delicious and nutritious breakfasts, lunches and dinners each day. Menus will encourage a more mindful eating approach.
After active days out taking in the beauty of the estate, guests can retreat to the comfort of their bedrooms. With sumptuous beds and linens that are fit for a duke or duchess, elegant baths and glorious views of either the expansive gardens or Scottish Isles, there is no better place for guests to re-energise and kick-start the festive season this November.
