There are many things we have in common with lifestyle blogger and author Estée Lalonde… our passion for travel, beauty AND chocolate porridge! This delicious recipe features in her new book, Bloom – Navigating Life And Style and we just had to share it with you! It’s super nutritious but it tastes awesome! 

 

I didn’t think I liked porridge or oatmeal until I tried it with cocoa and nut butter, which changed my mind completely. This really fills me up and puts some gas in my tank to keep me going until lunch.

Serves 1

50g / 2oz / ½ cup porridge oats or rolled oats

250ml / 8½fl oz / 1 cup almond milk

2 tablespoons raw cacao powder

1 heaped tablespoon almond or peanut butter

pinch of salt

splash of coconut milk (optional)

fruit of your choice to serve (optional)

 

Method

Pour the oats, almond milk, raw cocoa powder, nut butter and salt into a saucepan. If you like your porridge really creamy, add a splash of coconut milk.

Bring the mixture the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 4–5 minutes, stirring continuously, until the nut butter has melted and the porridge has thickened.

Spoon into a bowl and top with fruit if you like – I like to top mine with mixed berries and banana slices!
