The word “bhuti” is a Sanskrit word meaning wellbeing, and this beautiful wellbeing sanctuary in the heart of Richmond definitely lives up to its name. As well as offering over 50 holistic treatments, an organic vegan cafe, which offers the freshest and tastiest food around, and plenty of yoga and Pilates classes, bhuti somehow manages to maintain such a state of calm that you really can’t help but switch off and tune out. Hip & Healthy writer, Rachel Cruickshank, visited for a rejuvenating power yoga class and the most bee-utiful facial in London!
What? Therapy Honey Radiance & Renewal Facial – 60 mins, £80

What they say: A bespoke honey treatment ritual to naturally cleanse, hydrate and re-awaken the skin, leaving it softly radiant and deeply nourished. The fine mist of pure organic flower water and honey-based moisturiser are chosen to suit your skin’s unique needs and nature’s most powerful antioxidant -propolis treats fine-lines and stimulates collagen production. Aromatic resins, soft vibration and gentle touch ensure that senses are soothed, the body is grounded and the mind is rested.
Verdict
The honey facial was honestly like a facial I’ve never experienced before. You probably read that a lot, but really, this was a whole new experience and one that has been specially made at bhuti and for bhuti so you won’t find it anywhere else. The therapist takes time to talk you through what your goals are and what issues you currently have with you skin so they can devise a specific combination of goodness and nurturing just for you. You are then guided into a sort of meditative sleep by chanting OM a few times over which meant I ended the treatment feeling so calm and relaxed. Think savasana with added extras. You’ll be taken through a double cleanse, exfoliation, mask and left feeling full of moisture. The gorgeous products and your glowing skin will stay with you. I can honestly say, I felt a total state of calm after the treatment, made better by the fact that when I was done, I went and spent some time in bhuti’s relaxation room with hammock chairs and beds where you can surround yourself with pillows and blankets. Remember to take that book you never have time to read and really give yourself a break from the world.
bhuti is truly a gorgeous place, with friendly and helpful staff. It’s hard to almost describe, really, it’s more of a feeling like you’ve been on holiday and you’ve had some real time out from the world. If you make the visit, especially if you’re there for a treatment the main advice I would give you is to make sure you have at least half a day to have some lunch, enjoy your treatment and not have to rush off straight away afterwards. The world can wait.
